The drive to the park will take you through beautiful landscapes, giving you a taste of Rwanda’s natural beauty. Upon arrival, settle into your lodge or campsite near the park and get ready for the thrilling gorilla trekking experience that awaits you.

The highlight of your trip has arrived! Today, you’ll set out on a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking adventure. Accompanied by experienced guides, you’ll venture deep into the dense forests of Volcanoes National Park to track and encounter the magnificent mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Witnessing these gentle giants up close is an awe-inspiring and emotional experience you’ll cherish forever.

After yesterday’s gorilla trek, take this day to relax and reflect on the incredible encounter with the gorillas. You may choose to engage in optional activities, such as visiting nearby cultural sites, exploring the local markets, or simply enjoying the serene surroundings of the park.

Leaving Volcanoes National Park behind, we head to Akagera National Park, known for its diverse wildlife and picturesque landscapes. Upon arrival, settle into your lodge or campsite near the park, and if time permits, you can embark on a short game drive to spot some of the park’s residents.

Today, get ready for an action-packed full-day game drive through Akagera National Park. Keep your camera at the ready as you search for the Big Five – lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos – along with a variety of other wildlife species, including antelopes, giraffes, hippos, and more. The park’s diverse ecosystems provide excellent opportunities for wildlife sightings.

Start the day with a morning game drive, as the park awakens to the sounds of nature. Witness the predators on the prowl and the herbivores grazing in the open savannah. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari on the tranquil waters of Lake Ihema, where you’ll encounter a plethora of bird species, hippos, crocodiles, and other wildlife that flock to the lake.

Leave Akagera National Park behind and head to the scenic Lake Kivu, one of Rwanda’s largest freshwater lakes. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding landscapes as you settle into your lodge or campsite near Lake Kivu. Take some time to relax and unwind by the peaceful waters.

Today, we journey to Nyungwe National Park, a haven for primates and birds. The drive will take you through picturesque tea plantations and lush green hills. Upon arrival at Nyungwe, settle into your lodge or campsite near the park and prepare for the exciting adventures that await.

The highlight of Nyungwe National Park is its chimpanzee trekking experience. Accompanied by knowledgeable guides, venture into the dense forests in search of our closest relatives – the chimpanzees. Observe these playful and intelligent creatures as they swing through the trees and interact in their natural habitat.

Today is dedicated to exploring more of Nyungwe National Park’s natural wonders. You may opt for a guided nature walk, during which you’ll have the chance to spot various bird species, colorful butterflies, and other unique flora and fauna. Nyungwe’s biodiversity is truly remarkable, and every step in the forest offers new discoveries.

Take another day to fully appreciate the beauty and tranquility of Nyungwe National Park. You can engage in optional activities like canopy walks, hiking to waterfalls, or simply relishing the peaceful surroundings of the forest.

Today, we head to Kibuye, a charming town located on the shores of Lake Kivu. The drive to Kibuye will treat you to stunning views of the lake and rolling hills. Upon arrival, settle into your lodge or campsite near the lake and enjoy the serene atmosphere.

Relax and unwind in Kibuye, soaking in the beauty of Lake Kivu. You may take a boat ride on the lake, visit the nearby islands, or simply bask in the tranquility of the surroundings.

Spend another day at leisure in Kibuye, appreciating the simplicity and charm of this lakeside town. Take a stroll along the shores of Lake Kivu or explore the local markets for souvenirs and crafts.

Bid farewell to Kibuye as we head back to Akagera National Park. Upon arrival, settle into your lodge or campsite and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
